“Beyond the Middle”
June 20, 2026
The Scripture
Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
The Hook
We talk a lot about having courage in the middle of the storm. We talk about enduring, holding on, and just surviving the messy middle. But what about the courage it takes to actually step out of it?
The Core Message
Sometimes, we get so used to the struggle of the middle that it becomes our comfort zone. We get so good at surviving the chaos that we become afraid of the quiet obedience it takes to walk into the new season God is opening up.
Faith isn’t just about holding the line; it’s about crossing it when He calls your name. If you've been stuck in waiting mode, look up. The horizon is changing, the winds are shifting, and God is telling you it's time to move.
The Closing
Don't let the comfort of the middle keep you from the promise of the next step. God didn't bring you this far just to leave you surviving in the wilderness—He brought you here to show you His strength, and now He’s calling you forward. Whatever step of obedience is right in front of you today, take it with confidence, knowing the One who called you is already standing in your tomorrow.
The Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your faithfulness in the middle of our storms and our seasons of waiting. You have sustained us, anchored us, and given us the courage to endure. But Lord, we don't want to get comfortable just surviving.
Give us the eyes to see the new things You are doing right now, and give us a spirit of bold obedience to step out when You say move. Quiet our anxieties, silence our fears of the unknown, and remind us that You go before us. We lay down our past seasons and step into the promises You have for our next steps.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
