“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” — Psalm 122:1
The psalmist’s words capture a joy that has echoed through generations—a gladness that rises whenever God’s people gather for worship. As we step into the seasons of Lent and Easter, this same spirit invites us to come together with open hearts, ready to remember, to reflect, and to rejoice in the hope we share in Christ.
These weeks leading up to Easter draw us into a deeper awareness of God’s steady presence. Lent reminds us to slow down, to listen, and to prepare our hearts. Easter reminds us that God’s promises are alive, powerful, and still unfolding in our lives today. Each Sunday becomes a step on that journey, a moment where we join our voices, our prayers, and our lives in the house of the Lord.
There is something sacred about the way our community gathers—neighbors arriving, families settling in, familiar faces greeting one another with warmth. The sound of the church bell ringing across Abbott each Sunday morning carries that same invitation the psalmist felt: Come, let us worship together. It is a reminder that we do not walk this path alone, but as one body, united in faith and strengthened by God’s grace.
May this season renew our spirits, deepen our fellowship, and draw us closer to the One who leads us from reflection into resurrection hope.

Ministry Spotlight: Our Bell Ringer
Our focus this month is on Ronnie Ewing, whose faithful hands ring the church bell each Sunday morning. His work sends a message across the community that worship will begin very soon. The bell he rings has, for decades, called Abbott together in worship, fellowship, and shared faith. Ronnie continues that tradition with care, reverence, and a steady presence that blesses us all.

We continue to lift up those in our church family who are facing illness, recovery, or personal challenges. May God’s comfort and peace surround each one.
Pastoral Prayer
Gracious and loving God,
We come before You with grateful hearts, thankful for the gift of this church family and for every way You draw us together in worship and fellowship. As we walk through this season of Lent and look toward the joy of Easter, help us to slow our steps, open our hearts, and listen for Your guiding voice.
Bless our congregation, Lord—those who gather each week, those who serve quietly behind the scenes, and those who long to feel Your nearness. Strengthen the hands that ring the bell, the voices that lift our hymns, the hearts that offer prayers, and the lives that shine Your love into our community.
We ask Your presence to rest upon all who are burdened, all who are healing, and all who are seeking hope. Surround them with Your peace that passes understanding. Renew our spirits, deepen our unity, and help us to walk faithfully in the light of Christ.
As we prepare our hearts for the promise of resurrection, remind us that You are with us in every season—guiding, sustaining, and calling us forward in grace. May our worship, our service, and our daily lives reflect the love of the One who gave Himself for us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord, we pray.
Amen.
